Time for a Change

It feels like spring and I thought this would be a great time for a change.
Let me know what you think of the new colors and pictures. Self portraits are always fun and quite frankly no one takes any pictures of me.. These were taken at the "bloomin' Inn" in Pincher creek. Us girls were just fooling around and took some picture. It was a great weekend. I plan to digitally do some layouts of all four of us girls that went. Look for those posts down the road. I set out to be done my blog change by 10 am tonite. Here it is 11;20 and I'm still typing away.
I had a fantastic day today and felt that I accomplished a lot. I am thankful for days like this. Sometimes it is just nice to be at home.!!!!

Want to Bar B Q

It's a beautiful April Morning, as I am preparing to depart for the "blooming Inn" for a weekend of scrapbooking this is the weather we are facing. The bus was 15 minutes late picking up the kids and I know the roads are going to be slow going too.
It is still on the warm side and that it making things messy.. I couldn't even open the gate to feed the horses this morning. The blowing wet snow has put a sheet of ice on everything.

we should be bar b qing... not shoveling. I think we are all tired of the snow.

These are the picture I took yesterday. trying some new things with my camera and lighting that I learned from my photo class the other night.
This one I find a bit blurry or grainy. I took them all in priority setting, something Amy says she uses all the time. I think I will have to play with it.

This one is obviously altered. I did some cropping and tilting. Changed the core and work with the shadow and the brightness. I enjoy working with that sort of thing with my pictures.

Cropped this one a bit. I was really trying to focus on her new smile she got over Easter. Both front teeth gone... Added a few swirls changed the angle of the picture, a solid background and a little text and boom. A cute little picture.
Again, quality isn't what I would like but working with natural lite and new settings. I will learn.!!

This one I cropped and changed to black and white. I really over exaggerated the black and white to get that funky feel. I love altering my photos ... It's amazing how each ERA of time has it's own look.. Not sure which this one came from.. I love the dark shadow behind her and the over exposed look of her shirt.

Well that is my mini photo shoot last night with my kids. 7pm in front of my office window.

Photo Class

Well tonite I took a phote class from Amy at the Scrapbook Shoppe here in Strathmore.

She put on an excellent class.. I had a few questions going into it tonight and she was able to answer them all.

I unfortantly don't have any new pictures to post. I will try my hand at a few tommorrow.
I am leaving for a scrapbooking retreat this weekend, I would like to have new pictures to take with me. I just haven't taken any.

I brought my new trailer home yesterday.. I will start by taking pictures of that and posting. I'm very excited about having a new trailer. I can't wait to get out there and use it.

A good feeling

Image my excitement to get home tonite at 8pm and find over 50 emails from all my friends, family and some work.
I must say, the best email came from Amy... She told me of her blog and I of course had to have a look.. I'm addicted to other blogs..!!!
As I read her blog, I found a post from her day at the "spa". click on the link below and have a look at her post.. heck, have a look at her whole blog it is great.

Family Easter

Well we all made it to Melfort for Easter. Here is the group of just before a friendly card game Saturday night. The kids have enjoyed their time in Melfort and we have all had a chance to relax. Jim drove out with us then wendel drove him back on Sunday to the airport and he flew back to Strathmore.

We are staying tell Wednesday... I have had a massage and I am planning another before leaving. I will be totally relaxed to go back to reality.

I am missing my gal pals.. and thanks Tanya for the great comments. It was great to log into my blog tonite and read that nice little note.

Carol, good to hear from you. thanks for commenting and congratulations on the new addition to your family.
Hope the easter bunny was good to everyone and that you are too getting rested up.

The Map to Melfort
We are off to Saskatchewan for a few days.
I should be packing as I'm typing.. Just saving that tell morning, so I can be good and stressed about it. Going to get the kids off to school and then get it all together.

Hockey mamma's

Well hockey has come to a close in our home. Tonight the boys had there hockey wind up with their team and families. After swimming for an hour with the team the boys moved on to the civic centre for some bbq and floor hockey. It was a fun night for everyone.

Well my stacks of books are more onamental than anything these days. I had a goal of the end of Feb. for figuring out what I was going to do with them or if I was actually going to read them. I think they look really good were they are and Iam not going to get stressed about it. (I haven't even finished a book since Feb)

to quote an old friend that sent me an email when she saw my list
"My philosophy on reading is a little different, after going through my own "self help reading phase" my last one was the Surrendered Wife after it was featured on Oprah. I decided this was B/S and trashed almost all of them, and focus just on establishing life balance and keeping things simple. My goal was to take time for myself and read for enjoyment, hang with my good friends, and continue to build my relationship with Darin (my husband). But my reading time in itself is time for reflection, growth and escape."

I think that is great advice and I hope to start "escaping" a little more.

Hayze has another hockey game on Saturday on home ice. let's go STORM.
We need to win this game to go on to play the best out of three for the "banner"

Destiny did really well at her rodeo. She is lossing any fear that she might of had and is doing really well. We need to continue to work on her skill. yippee,kiyi ing won't take her everywhere....It is very cute to watch, but a litlle dangerous.

Weekend Fun

Just got home from a fabulous cooking class in Calgary at the cookbook co. Stacey and I went tonite as a "sorry you Christmas party with us was not up to your expectation" free bee...! Am I ever glad that I went. It well surplassed my expectations tonite. We cooked a great selection of food that you could easily serve to guests and not be to stressed out about it. Pork loin was the main dish and was cooked to perfection. I was responsible for the veggie braisen. Basically veggies cooked in beer, and I made the rasberry dressing to top the eggplant and fried green tomatoes.good!!

I work tomorrow and will miss Hayzes hockey game. He is playing the 3 game in the second round against cochrane. The winner plans high river on Sunday.

Destiny has rodeo on Sunday .. and I believe this will be my last week of hockey in rockyford. I have however found a new hockey team.. the pensioners.. 65-76 years old. They play twice a week. I can join them every secound Thursday. Based on my work schedule this will be lovely.. I am going to kick there buts someday.. Sure wasn't last thursday... Good work out.

Well they did it. Karli, Lisa, and Stacey raised of $7100. for "Relay for life"

They cut hair for 24 hours during a 24 hour hockey Tounament that Stacey's family hosted to raise money for Relay for Life. the Tournament raised over $20,000 dollars.

I am very proud of these ladies. Karli for shaving her head, Lisa for not sleeping one wink and Stacey and her family for all the time that it took to organize such a wonderful event.

Way to go ladies.!!! I am very proud to say I work with you

some catching up to do.

Good Morning!
With my internet on the fritz.. I have some catching up to do.
Well, we bought a car for $3,000 (right on budget). I man is coming to pick it up today because it is falling apart as we speak. I guess that will teach us not to by $3,000 cars. Cute well kept car. 1998 Malibu. Just not the headache we need right now. The guy was very good about it and he is going to give us our money back.

I joined weight watchers a couple of Tuesdays ago with a couple of friends. going well. lost the first week. The key is to stay motivate. My plan is to lose about 2 pounds a week. Setting achievable goals I think will help.


Hockey Play offs started for Hayze. They finished in round one best out of 3 against Nanton. They move on to play Cochrane this weekend best out of 3. Here Saturday Morning and off to Cochrane Sunday morning for a 8 am game. He has been playing goal throughout the whole thing. He is loving it. practising regularly and now wanting goaly school. (lord help us)



Future rodeo cowgirls & cowboys Asc. continues to be our outing every second Sunday for Destiny. Hayze did ride a couple of weeks ago. Destiny is loving it very much and I think has won 10-11 ribbons so far this year. She took her little horse Raz last weekend. We look her out of the pasture and in to the arena. I don't think she liked it very much and was missing her baby (9 mths old) and didn' listen to Destiny very well. For the third event a old college friend of mine lent Destiny a bomb proof horse and she did awesome. Nice big horse that Destiny got going really well. took home the 5th place ribbon for her ride in the barrels.

Bangles is taking part in a 24 hour hockey tournament in Rockyford, cutting hair for donations this weekend. One of our stylist is planning on shaving her head for "Relay for Life" Saturday night if she can raise $5000. We have be raising funds at the shop for 2 1/2 days . she already has $1700. I'm sure Karli will be bald.

As you can tell we have an exciting weekend planned. I have Saturday off and looking forward to all the recreational activity.. Plus really want to see Karli Bald.
