Daily Goals

Every now and then I get this uncontrollable urge to be the "MOTHER OF THE YEAR".
They don't come along to often but when they do I really get encouraged to do it all.

Well My goal on Monday was to use this: It had to be dusted off, that should tell you how long it has been since I last used it.
And of course my other goals was like every other Monday, get the laundry done. This weeks piles seem a little taller than normal.. Probably due to holidays and travel.
No, a bomb did not go off in the laundry room.

So with my goals set in place, I sat down with a couple of recipe books to look for a couple of tasty treats to whip up in the mix master. Now this always is a tricky task. Now remember, I had to dust of the mix master so you can imagine my baking supplies are not that readily available.. I am more of the staple kind of gal when it comes to baking..(More of a Cook).
I found a cookie recipe that looked great that used the common breakfast type ingredients (oatmeal and chocolate chips) and a butter tart square.. Got to have raisins for lunches... So I was set. Ready for the mess to begin.
I love my extra counter space for this purpose.

My cookies tasted really good, and I must admit ... If you move the rack up, one above the middle the bottoms really don't burn. (1st for everything)
I also love my new cuisinart red flipper.
My butter tart squares where truly delightful. So much so that I cut them up and put them on a pretty little tray and froze them so that I wouldn't eat them all.

I was lucky enough to have guest join us for supper. The funniest guests around. Jayse and Kadin. They are always good for a laugh at the table. The 3 boys ( or should I say 4) are always full of it.

So with the baking all done, supper put away and the sun setting... my laundry continued on. I finally complete my last goal at 8:45
Laundry done and all put away.

What better way to end the day but to kiss my kids goodnight.

Good Night

Hockey Playoffs over

Hayzes Tier 1 hockey season is over. they lost out this morning in the first round.
Oh, not to worry we have a lot more hockey to go.... We have 2 more weeks of practise and then a Tournament in Calgary and when that is all over Hayze will practise some more for the native tournament in April.

So with Hockey done for the day we have decided to rent movies and relax. That makes for a lazy day. I don't like how I feel when I have been laying around for a couple of hours. I am cold and a bit cranky and need something sweet.. So I made cupcakes. Turns out cupcakes are a hit on a snowy Sunday afternoon.
I guess I should keep moving.. I have to get myself ready for hockey.
Have a great evening.

There and Back

Well I have been to Melfort and back. Spent 4 nights with my dad and seen some other family too. The 3 actual days that I was there went very fast. I did however get some quality time with my father and the kids had a blast with their cousins.

The hi lite of the trip was Scot getting ready for his trip to Quebec, Quebec.
He is off to represent Saskatchewan in curling for the special Olympics. I am very proud of him. His team plays in the mixed league in Melfort as well and I got to watch that game Tuesday night. They won 10-5.. I think they are ready to kick some butt at the Olympics.

If you would like to follow the special Olympics and Scots team click here
Special Olympics

Good luck "team Saskatchewan" we will be cheering you on from Alberta.

Dad, Wendel and more of Scots family.. Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma are all flying down to be with the team for a week.. I think they are all getting excited.

Have fun everyone, we will be thinking of you..

My friends have always been so important to me.. And well I think that I do a pretty good job at picking them to.. ( I needed some credit )
I think that is the best thing about friends is that you can "pick them". they aren't given to you, and they aren't something you have to have.. You Pick them!
And I LOVE MINE. I have the best friends around.

Last night marked the beginning of our "Friends Weekend" We have decided to didicate this time to friends because a lot of us don't have family here or we think having time with friends is important too. We spent Valentines out for supper with Brad and Karla and there children. Tonight we are having supper at Stacey's and doing some skating with the staff from Burnco tomorrow night. It is just nice to have some friend time.

We were suppose to take some family pictures and make this "that kind" of holiday, however, life has just been to busy up until this point. Maybe some point this month we will take some pictures.

Yesterday marked the 3rd year of Destiny's arrive. We can't imagine she hasn't been with us forever. She is maturing into such a nice young lady. Valentines is a great day around our home. We gave the children both movie passes.. This should make us go into a movie.. (Should)

Have a great day and I will share some pictures from tonight...

Laundry Day

Well, Monday is laundry day for me ... I haven't got much else done either. I have been on my computer all day. I booked our Disney passes through one of my cards with rewards... What a great savings. I sent some pictures to some of Hayzes teammates from the weekends hockey tournament and I ate a cheese bun from Costco that we picked up yesterday.. YUMMO..!!

Hayzes team had a fabulous weekend on the ice.. Kicking but in all 4 games that they played. We are back at the rink today for practice and to prepare for the game they have coming this weekend. The winner of this game will move on to the playoffs for the season.
GOOD LUCK BOYS..& Karrissa

With February being FRIEND MONTH we have been planning a few get together with friends. The first weekend we had spur of the momment "games night" and played cards with brad and karla and shaun and stacey... Karla won..Beginners luck she says.. I say, fool your friends!.. YOU ARE AN OLD SHARK AREN'T YOU?

Well I think next weekend will find us at Shaun and Stacey's for supper. Another great "friend day"

Hopefully you can plan some fun things with your friends this month.. any good ideas please share them with us.

We are going. I have booked the flights and we are going to the "HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH" We are Spending 9 glorious days in May. Our kids haven't been to Disney and what better time than

I spent 3 hours on the computer researching hotels last night and the final verdict is a hotel right across from the park. Not the top of the line but it is all about the conveince of the location. Free breakfast and not having to take a shuttle will save us a big amount of money. Plus being able to walk back to our room is we want to rest in the afternoon will be great.

The kids are going to start a jar with savings for the next 3 months. It will be interesting to see how much they can save. I will keep you updated on the progress.

If you have any disney travel tips for us, please share by clicking on the word Comment at the bottom.
