Pretty in Purple
After a long day of playing, Destiny was ready for a bath and what better to put on after a bath but a new pair of pj's.
I picked these silky bottom pajamas up at Costco the other day and they are supper cute.
I am playing with the settings and lighting of my new camera. I got about a 45% success rate tonite. Not bad considering I am just playing around. I do have to really use my tripod in low lite settings. I am getting a lot of blurry pictures.

I am really loving my new toy.. I took a ton of pictures in Canmore on the long weekend. I am pleased with the way they turned out and will share theme when I get them all sorted out.. I took a lot.!!

Surprise.

I flew to Saskatoon Saturday night to drive to Melfort to surprise my mom for mothers day. I got into Saskatoon Saturday night and stayed at Wendels and we drove out Sunday morning and showed up at 9:20. Mom was totally surprised and we showed up just in time for brunch with the family.


It has been a great day.. Sorry the time is going to be so short but I am glad that I got to come for a couple of days.

I rented a car to come out to mom and dad's.. it is quite cute.

Jim was so sweet to book me my flight ... It was my mothers day gift.. Now I get to go home and have another "mothers day" with my kids.

Marlene visited last weekend for 3 nights. We had a fabulous time with a lot of little giggles. We did do a picture diary of our Saturday but to show them all would take to long. I'll give you just some of the high lites.... But just to let you know, I bought my "Twinks" eyeshadow at the M A C counter and Marlene and I were entertained by the staff for a short time..

MY BIRTHDAY

It was my birthday today.. What a great day it was. Jim woke me up with a kiss and left for work. I got up at 7am and went to the kitchen to find a brand new "Canon Rebel" slr camera. Yes, I am a happy girl. all I could say when I called him was "shut up, SHUT UP!" I can't wait to get started with it. Then my brother Wendel called to wish me a happy birthday, I thought that was totally thoughtful, I talked to my mom and dad who are buying me some perennial plants to put in my front flower beds..and my brother Monty was there at work so I talked to him.
My girlfriends Tanya and Stacey arrived at 8:30 with gifts..Tanya got me wd40, a first aid kit and a hand held electric vacuum all for my trailer. Stacey got me a cookbook, spaghetti, wine opener, apron and a heating pad. The girls took me to Inglewood in Calgary for the day. (Can you believe I forgot my Camera?. My picture diary of the day is from my cell phone.)

It was a wonderful day and I really had a good time. We all bought 6' tall metal flower bird feeder and I bought a couple of vases that hang on the wall for my basement. We sat and had a drink at a pub and just had a few giggles. thanks girls.!!

Well, baseball has oficially started. What a great night we had last night.
Our kids both did really great. This is Destiny's first year in ball and she did surprisingly awesome. aware of positions and very interested.
We acsesorized with pink last night for the benefit of "coach Jason" who asked her to tuck her hair in her hat so they didn't know he had a girl on his team.!!

Hayze was the only boy on the team with a "can" on so he played back catcher for the game. Like a pro I might add..

He also conected a nice one the last inning of the game and got a home run.
It was a very fun night..

I have been tagged from Amy. I have to list 7 random facts/habits about myself, and tag 7 people at the end. This is harder than I thought but here it goes.
1. I am addicted to my blog and reading other blogs. (I will list them some day.)
2. I am a bit of a fanatic about clean closets and cupboards. I have to stop myself from organizing them when the rest of the house is falling apart.
3. I have worn the same perfume for 14 years. "Issey Miyake"
4. I love anything "gadgety" or electronic. (i get it from my mother) my current fav's are my 'Q' and my 'i pod'. (a canon rebel is my choice for my next new toy)
5. I love my new home, but the best part for me is the office and the laudry room.
6. My style of scrapbooking is using one large picture. I actually had to have this pointed out to me. (did not know I had a "style")

POT LUCK...

We had woman's group at my house last night. 7 woman showed up and it was fantastic.
We had a pot luck supper and I didn't state what I wanted people to bring and the assortment was amazing. I must say a special thanks to Tanya's husband "mr. Rycroft" for making up such lovely dishes of lettuce raps and Taramazo. Your wife was a total hit.. It is all because of you.. !!!! (this time)
With that we had grilled shrimp and grilled veggies, smokies, cauliflower and broccoli salad, 2 Caesar salads and Stacey made this fantastic pizza with cambizola cheese, purple onion, pine nuts and pear. It was a great appetizer plus at 11ish we had another round of it. We spent the night visiting tell 1:30. Anne was the winner by default for the next round, she was the only 1 here that had not won yet this year. Obviously winding down for another year. She was talking about going golfing in may.. here is hoping.

to all the woman in womans group that read this. Thanks for another great time.

Time for a Change

It feels like spring and I thought this would be a great time for a change.
Let me know what you think of the new colors and pictures. Self portraits are always fun and quite frankly no one takes any pictures of me.. These were taken at the "bloomin' Inn" in Pincher creek. Us girls were just fooling around and took some picture. It was a great weekend. I plan to digitally do some layouts of all four of us girls that went. Look for those posts down the road. I set out to be done my blog change by 10 am tonite. Here it is 11;20 and I'm still typing away.
I had a fantastic day today and felt that I accomplished a lot. I am thankful for days like this. Sometimes it is just nice to be at home.!!!!

Want to Bar B Q

It's a beautiful April Morning, as I am preparing to depart for the "blooming Inn" for a weekend of scrapbooking this is the weather we are facing. The bus was 15 minutes late picking up the kids and I know the roads are going to be slow going too.
It is still on the warm side and that it making things messy.. I couldn't even open the gate to feed the horses this morning. The blowing wet snow has put a sheet of ice on everything.

we should be bar b qing... not shoveling. I think we are all tired of the snow.

These are the picture I took yesterday. trying some new things with my camera and lighting that I learned from my photo class the other night.
This one I find a bit blurry or grainy. I took them all in priority setting, something Amy says she uses all the time. I think I will have to play with it.

This one is obviously altered. I did some cropping and tilting. Changed the core and work with the shadow and the brightness. I enjoy working with that sort of thing with my pictures.

Cropped this one a bit. I was really trying to focus on her new smile she got over Easter. Both front teeth gone... Added a few swirls changed the angle of the picture, a solid background and a little text and boom. A cute little picture.
Again, quality isn't what I would like but working with natural lite and new settings. I will learn.!!

This one I cropped and changed to black and white. I really over exaggerated the black and white to get that funky feel. I love altering my photos ... It's amazing how each ERA of time has it's own look.. Not sure which this one came from.. I love the dark shadow behind her and the over exposed look of her shirt.

Well that is my mini photo shoot last night with my kids. 7pm in front of my office window.

Photo Class

Well tonite I took a phote class from Amy at the Scrapbook Shoppe here in Strathmore.

She put on an excellent class.. I had a few questions going into it tonight and she was able to answer them all.

I unfortantly don't have any new pictures to post. I will try my hand at a few tommorrow.
I am leaving for a scrapbooking retreat this weekend, I would like to have new pictures to take with me. I just haven't taken any.

I brought my new trailer home yesterday.. I will start by taking pictures of that and posting. I'm very excited about having a new trailer. I can't wait to get out there and use it.

A good feeling

Image my excitement to get home tonite at 8pm and find over 50 emails from all my friends, family and some work.
I must say, the best email came from Amy... She told me of her blog and I of course had to have a look.. I'm addicted to other blogs..!!!
