I finished... Now what

Well It took me 16 days to finish the fourth book of the Twilight series... Now I guess I have to wait for this. the Movie
It looks to much more of a thriller than I had it pictured in my head.. I had a love story in mind.. It looks good just the same.

A friend of mine had this to say about the 4th book. Amy's review

I must say I do share some of her thought but I did like it better than the 2 and 3 books.

If you are reading the series.. let me know your thoughts.

Back at it.. routine and reality..

Well I can't believe it is here already. The first day under our belts. Destiny had a lot to share with me today when I got home... Hayze not so much.. Likes his teacher, happy over all, but not much to share. Yesterday before the big day we took the kids to the city for some last minut items.. this is what it looked like.

This was the product of choice for both my kids for back to school. Zwipes is a neat way for the kids to be able to doodle and not wreck their binders. The website is great to. They have templates that you can print to use with the zwipe pens ... tic tac toe, hangman... etc. have a look

The Shoe of choice for both my kids was puma this is Hayzes new pair. The are so much better that the skateboarder type that was what he wanted last year.
The best thing happened yesterday before we left for school shopping, we took some stuff to the take it or leave it.(a place at the recycling were you do just that, take something, or leave something)... I stumbled on to a box of "mac tac" from the 60's or 70's... I grabbed one roll that was pink and orange and brown.. you know the groovy stuff I am talking about.. Well once I got into the truck, I must admit I kind of wondered what I was going to do with it, I wasn't about to line my cupboards with it but I did love the design of it and I know I would get inspired... Then Destiny got a pink pencil box.. and I thought... Just the thing, I will use my Cricut to cut out labels with this mac tac and I will have a sticky backed label. It worked like a charm and I didn't have to buy the expensive "cricut" acrylic paper.. (p.s.. I asked her if she showed her friends her cool new labels and she said "no, that would be bragging")

The Cricut
Well what is a shopping trip to Calgary without a little something for me.. I got this new 10" frying pan with poacher from Williams-Sonoma. I cooked in it tonight. I think I am going to love it. It is so nice to have something new to cook with. My current set is going on 20 years and starting to stick a bit. I am sure this will be put to good use.
And so to start the school morning off right I thought I would make "lazy cinnamon rolls" like my mom made.. easy enough recipe. I just can't seem to get it right.. I put them in the oven prior to bed... When I woke up with hayze a 4am I thought I would check if they were rising.. Well, I had to remove three from hanging off the side of the pan, then this morning when they were cooking, they over flowed and the house was filled with smoke at 6 am. Scaring the crap out of Jim.. They actually turned out and tasted ok.. (small tip, do not use 24 rolls in this pan)
still didn't tasted as good as my mom's but ok..
They looked like this.. minus the flower.Well, that is the Back to School Update.. Hope to share camping photos soon.

waking up on the other side of tomorrow

Have you ever had one of those days were you just want to close your eyes and wake up on the other side of tomorrow.. With no headache and all the energy of the world.. well that was me yesterday.. Everything feeling so personal and slashing and just tired.
I wanted to be on the other side of tomorrow.

When I get there, I want to be scar free, fancy free, and care free. I want to dance in the wind, draw on the sidewalk, and laugh so hard that my pants hurt. I want to live in a spotless house, walk on a sidewalk without cracks, and never have to comb my hair. I want perfectly behaved children, dogs that do not shed black hair on the couch, and a brand new wallet.
I want to be on the other side of tomorrow.
I want to close my eyes, go to sleep, and wake in the morning in a downy bed of cloudy white. I want to say everything well, smile everything better, and smooth everything over.
I want to be on the other side of tomorrow.
I want to be size 3, eat size 24, and exercise size 36. I want to sing in a choir without attending rehearsals. I want to paint like Van Gogh and keep both of my ears.
I want to be on the other side of tomorrow and get there without moving a muscle.

But life demands that I stand up, walk out of my door, open my mind and think. Life will not allow me to escape the truth which is this: Sometimes, it is necessary to force myself through tough walls of prickly people and pears. And sometimes it takes every soul thing I own to keep working harder, keep praying firmer, and to keep hanging onto the faith I believe is more durable than the crust that is holding me back in today.
Effort is required if I am ever to arrive on the other side of tomorrow.

My new favorite thing

If I remember to bring them in to the store.

My eco bags are my new favorite things.

Not because I can fit $135.oo worth of groceries into 3 bags.. (darn price of groceries) but because I can fit $135.00 worth of groceries in 3. (less trips to the truck to bring them in).

Not to mention what I am doing for the environment... Still working on my recycling plan.

Try them if you haven't, you'll love them.

Wild

Well my time in between posts has been 'Wild" in more ways than one.. Camping turned out to be great. We really only had one day on the beach but the kids stayed busy with mini golf, go carts, horse wagon rides and on and on.... Three wheeled cart that the boys rented.. What a lot of fun.. (for Stacey and I too)

After camping was over I rushed home to do some last minute things for work and to get Hayze to the wild pony races. They started on Thursday and continue until tomorrow. The boys received matching western shirts and are competing for a buckle. They have done great until today. Getting stepped on and taking wrecks and keeping on going.

This was from the fist day.. and it only gets better from here. .

They broke the arena record Friday night with a 8 second ride.

Bangles sponsored a night in the backstretch on Friday night with 50 of our friends. It was a great night of watching the rodeo and chuckwagons, eating and having a few beer. I did lose 4 bucks betting on the wagons but it was worth the laughs...

Marlene and Dave Earl came and spent 3 nights with there family (minus Scot) while they were on holidays. They came with me on Friday night and watched thire 1st rodeo.. I hope they had fun. It was great to have them here with us.

A group photo I took before they left this morning.

Destiny has been having a great time this year during Heritage Days. She has been with a couple of her friends selling programs and just hanging around watching all the events.
I captured this picture of the girls today.

Rodeo Royalty Trio

I have taken hundreds of pictures lately. I will go through and share some sone. Good Night

My niece..??

Well, my question goes out to everyone of you.. Do I have to call her a niece if my sister in law adopts her, cleans up after her, loves her, babies her like no buddies business and of course uses that little oogy, moogy voice that only comes out when something is really cute..
(that's still up for debate as well)
The newest member of our extended family

Maggie

Our little Lilly had a great time playing with her.. She was smart enough to get into small spots so that Maggie couldn't fit in..It was really cute to watch the two puppies play.
I think that they both had a great time at the 75th birthday as well.

Looking So Much Younger

The secret to younger looking skin?
Start when you are eight.

She feels that her skin is so much younger.. almost that of a four year old.. (it's a miracle)

Destiny and her little friend Karissa

I am sure that we are going to have to do this again real soon because, today her skin is back at its ripe old age of 8.. Darn the luck. This was a very fun sleepover thing to do.. the girls loved it.

Hear are a couple pictures from the Rodeo the other day. The kids prior to their race.. deep in thought. They have another event this weekend in Writing On Stone and then we are off to a few days of camping. I am looking forward to getting my trailer out this summer. (hopefully the plexi glass is out by then)

What are you summer plans.. Any ideas you would like to share with us. We are looking for plans for the last week in August.

Arrowwood Rodeo

The kids, Jim, Me and my Dad (Ross) all had a great day in the sun during the Arrowwood rodeo on Sunday.

Jim's Bulldogg'n didn't turn out so good but he did place in the team roping. Jims not to proud of this picture but I am proud of the photography ... and really.. it is good for a giggle. Destiny and Hayze entered the wild pony race for the second day in a row and they were both in the barrel racing.

It was great to have my dad here for a week and my yard is well on it's way to being caught up. Nice just having another set of hand to help out.

have a great day.

Prairie Girl

Well it has been a few days since I have posted.. My dad has kept me busy and my kids have kept us both busy. I have went to Melfort and back since my last post to celebrate my dad's 75 birthday and dad has came back to Strathmore to spend some time with us here. I have enjoyed having him here and I think that he has enjoyed being here.. We are both pretty bossy so that can sometimes be a problem... (thank goodness we love each other)

I have not really taken a ton of pictures in the last little while but I do want to catch up on some of them.. so here is a recap.
Jim at Dad's birthday. In the evening around the fire. you are so handsome.

me in Dad's hat... He takes it off to eat.. I was the one he handed it to....I am soooo hot.!!
my boys..
The poster Wendel gave dad of himself on a cover of a magazine.
Marlene, looking cute as always.
Kirk, Hayze, Lane and Landon. They are so cool

Destiny priming up for her watermelon eating contest that she wins... Shock, shock..!
Rid'em Cowboy.. He looks like he is really spurring.. ouch..
Grandpa at my house in front of our flower garden.. These perennials are from our "Friends and Family" gathering last year. Our flowers look so nice.
A little chicka dee eating bird seed in our flower garden
Hayze riding Razzle Dazzle (Raz) the other night
I took the kids to the water park while dad got a massage the other day.

The Prairie Sunset a couple nights ago off my back deck. It was so beautiful the way the sun was leaving shadows in the barley.. You can't take that away from us prairie people, that is sent from God.
Dad and I are off to a wedding tomorrow and Jim and the kids are off to do a bit of wild pony racing. Sunday takes us back to Arrowwood for the rodeo again. I am really excited for the kids.
I will post results as they come in..

What Else Do You Go For?

The Grease and the Sugar..

We did try a little bit of everything yesterday at the Calgary Stampede!! Minus the Cotton Candy.. However we did learn a valuable fact about Cotton Candy. Only about 1/2 tablespoon of sugar is in a small bag of cotton candy and only 150 calories in a large. Can you believe it? Now that is good news

this is how the rodeo started.. With about 12 sky divers saluting Canada.
How patriotic.

The kids got autographs from all the winners from the day.

Another remarkable thing was that each of their bronzes that they received right after the rodeo was already engraved with there names and they were each give cards to sign for the kids.
The kids with Scott and Maysa. he had a 88 pnt ride in the bull riding that day.

Our last stop of the day was to Indian Village. We were just in time to see a

Pow Wow and then the kids had a Indian Taco.

It was a fantastic Day, thanks to BURNCO for the great lunch and rodeo tickets

Boiling

I think the pool is oficially a hot tub. We might have even seen it bubbling in spots.
We did some last minute shopping today and came home and organized and did a bit laundry and went in the pool.
Pictures are really lacking but we did see the skin of this really big bug that all most looked like the shell of a bee.

Me trying to get rid of the tan lines at our pool with Destiny's hat on.Entrance to Chandler Mall. Very nice mall.
Live feed of Huntington Beach California in the Hollister store. If you can see. the Temp. at the beach in California is a perfect 75 degree's.

This is the "shell" of a bug that was stuck to the rock of the pool.. A perfect shell , hollow with stinger attached. Any ideas of what this is. Let us know.

Have a great night.
